I got my car serviced here in March of last year and I refrained from leaving a review then but honestly my experience still makes me mad to this day. We took in our Mercedes SUV for a Service A and we ended up spending around $3k to do some replacements. Overall, they had bad communication skills — initially they fear mongered us about our tires saying they were 15-20 years old when the car is literally from 2017 and we bought it from the dealership. We were super surprised by this and asked how that made any sense, but instead of being like “I’m not sure, we should double check that” he said “there are shady people out there…” and in the end, it was a mistake! But he still took the opportunity to fear monger us about the state of our tires and made us super nervous about driving to Bend that weekend. We drove to Bend on our existing tires and it was fine and got them replaced elsewhere when we returned. They also recommended we do a bunch of other work - we chose to do some but not others. One of the recommended replacements was windshield wipers which are not expensive and was going to cost a few hundred dollars to do through them, so understandably I wanted to do my own research on what to get and install them myself to save the money. I asked them to service the other parts of the car but to wait on the windshield wipers and to call me before installing. No call. Lo and behold when we went to pick up our car, they had replaced the windshield wipers without asking. Very unprofessional. And on top of that, the service agent made a comment to me mid-discussion about how I looked different from last time. I was wearing glasses but it just felt unnecessary and inappropriate given the situation… Finally after all services were finished, we get our car back and the check engine light comes on. I call them because that seems counterintuitive and I ask “is this normal?” And the only response given is yes. No explanation. I have to ask “why is this normal?” And he says it’s fine to drive as long as it’s not flashing. One year later it’s still on, I take it to a new repair shop and they need to charge me $185 to run diagnostics on the check engine light. 🫠 Swedish automotive: the gift that keeps on giving… never coming back here needless to say

Large scale operation and they got my car in for an oil change in only a few days which is great. I usually work on my own cars but currently I don't have the space to do routine maintenance on my daily. I wanted a shop to go over the car and give me a detailed report after an oil change. That is why I choose to take my car to a shop instead of a fast change place. It is double the price. Somehow they flubbed and told me the rear windshield wiper was "damaged" and the fronts were fine. I had literally changed the rear within the last month. The fronts were falling apart. When confronted the counter guy was nice and asked the tech to check it out. It was all professionally taken care of in the end . However, now I feel very uncomfortable with the quality of the check over considering the most basic thing was screwed up. So $250 later I am going to be going over my car again myself to double check everything.

Im so thrilled to say that Ive found a new repair shop that I will absolutely look forward to bringing my cars in to. Sean was so helpful and informative. He made the whole process seamless and efficient AFTER A VERY FRUSTRATING DIAGNOSTIC WITH MERCEDES DEALERSHIP. I was quoted half the price of the dealership for the same exact engine work required. Couldnt be happier with Swedish Automotive!!! Thank you Sean- and electric blue looks fabulous on you!!!

Did a thorough job on repairs, kept me posted of issues and timeline for completion. Charged 1/2 of what dealership indicated repairs would be. After hours pickup secure and easy! Highly recommend.

I recently moved to West Seattle and was in need of reliable service for my mini Cooper Clubman. I chose Swedish Auto because they were close by. I was relieved to find that they are friendly, professional, and thorough in their diagnostics. They took extra time at their own expense to get to know my car and provided me with a detailed service plan going forward. The shop is clean and organized and they are trustworthy. My car has never run better.

There are plenty of good and honest mechanics. Swedish Automotive is not one of them. They are overpriced and will lie to you. These people don’t have your best interests in mind. They are here to make as much money as possible, and they will tell you lies to do it. My Experience: My car had an unexpected breakdown, and I thought this would be a fair and reasonable place to go because of the reviews. I was wrong They have excellent communication skills and respond very quickly. They charged $400 for an inspection and diagnostic. Okay fine. Their recommendation was to replace the broken thing…. Thanks After the review, they returned with about $2100 for the repair bill, which was a simple fix. I reviewed the charges; they were charging me $1200 for a $400 part and $500 for labor, plus diagnostics. Paying $2100 for a 10-minute fix doesn’t seem reasonable. I offered to source the part for them, bringing the cost down for me and allowing them to make some profit for themselves. They lied and told me they were unable to use customer-provided parts, even though the parts were sourced directly from the manufacturer. They told me this was because of Washington state warranty law, which doesn’t exist, and they weren’t able to provide it. I expressed my dissatisfaction with an overpriced repair, the lies, and the unwillingness to help. I called a tow truck to pick up my car. I ordered the part online and installed it myself in 10 minutes. Saved $1600. It was four screws and a plug-in. They also claimed to be competitive with local shops. After a quick market analysis, I assume they lied to give their customers the impression that this is what people are paying. I did get a second quote from the dealer: 800 for parts and 250 for labor, with diagnostics included. I requested a copy of my inspection and diagnostic report. They refused to provide the reports, and I doubted whether they had completed them. Ultimately, I believe they thought I was in a desperate situation, and they could lie and take advantage of that. I don’t want anything to do with someone so dishonest. Do you?
